Coaching Tip with Steve Darmody – Issues with keeping your Head down

Keeping your head down during the swing can cause issues. Let’s explore why and how to correct it, using the swings in the image below.

When analysing the head position relative to the TV panel behind, distinct differences become evident.

On the left, the head remains down, restricting a smooth turn through the ball and causing the left leg to stay overly bent during the follow-through.

Conversely, on the right, the head moves towards the top of the screen, allowing for a more fluid motion.

Incorrect head positioning can lead to timing issues and directional inconsistencies, impacting overall swing performance.
