Men’s Foursomes Championship – Sunday 15 September 2024

On Sunday 15 September 2024, the Club welcomed a record number of players to the 2024 Men’s Foursomes Championship on The Pines golf course. Defending champions Paul Smerdon and Troy Devine aimed for their eleventh consecutive title.

The morning conditions were ideal, leading to a tightly packed leaderboard after the first round:

• 72 – Adam Stuart and Zac Stuart
• 76 – Paul Smerdon and Troy Devine
• 76 – Taylor Barr and Sasha Cooper
• 79 – Jeff Dern and Harry Dern

Adam and Zac Stuart posted the best nett score of the morning with 67.5, closely followed by Tim Prest and Alex Kowalczuk with 69.

The afternoon round proved more challenging as strong southerly winds picked up, setting the stage for a dramatic finish with the following afternoon scores:

• 78 – Taylor Barr and Sasha Cooper
• 79 – Paul Blake and Matt McNicol
• 80 – Paul Smerdon and Troy Devine
• 82 – Adam Stuart and Zac Stuart

Blake Scott and Mitch Tsai posted the best nett score of the afternoon with 71.

Final round

With a tie of 154 gross, Adam and Zac Stuart faced Taylor Barr and Sasha Cooper in a playoff round.

After two bogey-halved holes, the father-and-son duo of Adam and Zac Stuart made an impressive 4 on hole 18 to claim the 2024 Men’s Foursomes Championship.
