On Saturday 16 December 2023, the Club welcomed over 360 Members, Sanctuary Cove residents, families, and friends to our very first Christmas on the Lawn event on The Pines driving range.
The afternoon was set to be a wonderful family-oriented event with the driving range transformed into a festive playground. The fun-filled afternoon had Christmas carols, an animal petting farm, face painting, inflatable chip shot golf games and a 9-hole mini-golf course, as well as a jumping castle, fairy floss, popcorn and snow cones and food and bar services.
However, the weather took a nasty and unpredicted turn only 15 minutes into the event with a dangerous storm. The Club’s food and beverage team, with the help of Members and guests, miraculously recreated a wonderful undercover event on Lakeview Terrace and in The Jabiru Restaurant. The afternoon, though well at odds with the original plan, proved to be a fabulous fun-filled time and we were lucky that Santa was able to negotiate the weather and still bring smiles to the children’s faces.
A very special thank you to everyone who came and supported this event, we look forward to hosting it in hopefully better weather again in 2024.
