Your grip plays a crucial role in determining the outcome of your swing. A strong grip, where the bottom hand is positioned underneath the club, tends to over-close the clubface at impact. This often forces the golfer to grip the club tightly in an effort to hit the ball straight, which can disrupt timing, balance, and overall motion.

In contrast, a neutral grip allows for a more relaxed and balanced swing. It promotes smoother body motion and better timing, leading to improved consistency and control. When done correctly, transitioning to a neutral grip can feel natural and comfortable surprisingly quickly.
