On Sunday 3 November 2024, members and their guests attended the annual Melbourne Cup Calcutta draw. An astounding $31,800 was raised in the total prize pool with a 20% donation, totalling $6,360 made to the Club’s Month of Pink Campaign supporting Griffith University’s Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. Thank you to all members who contributed to raising these valuable funds through raffle tickets and the Calcutta auction.

The excitement of the Melbourne Cup was brought to life at the Club for the annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon. Members and guests gathered, dressed to impress, and enjoyed the thrilling racing action as it unfolded on the big screens. The luncheon featured an exquisite buffet feast, which included diverse cuisines such as fresh seafood, French, Indian, Spanish and Japanese, paired with a premium drinks package that included a selection of the Club’s top-tier beverages.

After the thrill of the race, the party continued well into the evening with member favourites ‘The Accidents’ keeping the celebrations alive for the Melbourne Cup afterparty. Congratulations to the best dressed for the day Stewart Price and Kelly Shannon.
