Red Apple Day – Bowel Cancer Australia’s Annual Giving Day

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month – Bowel Cancer Australia’s signature event to raise awareness of Australia’s second deadliest cancer and fund the leading community-funded charity dedicated to supporting those impacted by bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer claims the lives of 103 Australians every week (5,350 people a year) – but it’s one of the most treatable types of cancer when detected early. While the risk of bowel cancer increases significantly with age the disease doesn’t discriminate affecting people of all ages. 299 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this week (15,531 people a year).

Red Apple Day, Wednesday 19 June 2024, is Bowel Cancer Australia’s Annual Giving Day when Australians are encouraged to support the vital work of the charity. In support of raising funds for this important cause, the club will be facilitating a series of fundraising initiatives where members are invited to show their support.

Red Apple Day Nearest the Pin Competitions

Red Apple Day Nearest the Pin (NTP) competitions will be held for men and ladies on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 June respectively. Entry into the NTP competitions is $10 per person and the winners will each receive a $100 golf shop gift card. These NTPs will be held in addition to the NTP in the day’s competition.

Lakeview Bar Specials

Dress in Red for Red Apple Day

All members who dress in red on both Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 June 2024 will be eligible to win a $50 Lakeview Bar dining voucher.

The below beverage specials will be available to purchase from Lakeview Bar between Monday 17 and Sunday 23 June 2024 with $2 from each beverage sold donated to the Red Apple Day fundraising tally.
