Update on the Golf Courses

In addition to general course maintenance, the Golf Course Maintenance team completed the following tasks this week:

  • Edging of The Pines cart paths
  • Foliar fertiliser and insecticide application on The Pines fairways, tees, and aprons
  • Granular fertilisation on The Pines aprons
  • Application of amendments and a light dusting on The Pines greens
  • Returfing of weak patches on The Pines greens
  • Bunker trimming and detailing on The Palms
  • Pre-renovation herbicide application on The Palms fairways, tees, and aprons
  • Lake trimming on The Palms
  • Irrigation trimming on The Palms
  • Mowing of rough on The Palms
  • Growth regulator application to The Palms bunkers
  • Tree removal and garden detailing on The Palms 15th hole

Next week the team will focus on:

  • The Palms course renovations, with the course closed from Monday 16 January to Friday 27 January
  • The Pines irrigation head trimming
  • The Pines lake trimming
  • Garden work and detailing on The Pines

As some Members would have noticed, some fairways on The Pines haven’t recovered as well as anticipated. These areas are extremely dry and require further attention. In the coming weeks, the Golf Course Maintenance team will solid tine and top dress these areas with an organic blend, as well as apply more soil wetters. This program should see these areas recover to pre-renovation conditions.
